Nashik is well connected via railways to all major cities. Plans are drawn for linking Nashik & Pune, the two prominent cities in golden triangle. The proposal for a rail link between Nashik and Pune via Kalyan is slowly gathering momentum. Proposals of Half Executive Coach in Panchavati, Shatabdi Express are under active consideration.
Modernization of Nashik Railway Station is also under consideration, Mr. Narayanbhai Rathwa Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways has informed that the proposal has been accepted and funds will be made available soon. As per FPJ news dated 18 Apr 06 DRN have been empowered to have private partnership for modernization of Railway Station.
Recently, Hon’ble State Minister of Railways Mr. Narayanbhai Rathwa announced that a survey had been undertaken for establishing a Nashik – Surat Rail link via Nandurbar- Dhule- Jalagaon. It was declared by Minister of Railways Mr. Narayanbhai Rathwa that a survey should also be undertaken for connecting Nashik Shirdi railway link.
Analysis of Bangalore-Nashik-Delhi route is on its way. In Jan. 06, Hon’ble MP Mr. Devidasji Pingale announced that he would take the efforts to start this train. |
